Bahrain has two UNESCO World Heritage Sites and most visitors see neither properly. This day is both.
The morning is Dilmun: Qal’at al-Bahrain with its fort, harbour excavation and Site Museum, then Barbar Temple and the Dilmun Burial Mounds at A’ali, the largest prehistoric cemetery in the world. After lunch we cross to Muharraq for the Pearling Path: the boat to Bu Maher Fort and the walk through the old merchant quarter.
The burial mounds at A’ali are viewed from the roadside. Cannot run on Monday or Tuesday.

About four kilometres across the day, in two walks. Flat shoes.
